Deployment Configuration
Outcomes: Gain an overview of myData's deployment configuration process.
Assetic myData/myValuer utilises an administration tool to centrally manage server and client settings, including encrypted database connection details, file server connection details and other network-wide settings (the Global Configuration File).
The "Admin Utility" maintains the Global Configuration Files that can be shared between clients.
These configuration files are usually deployed on the file server. Key benefits include:
- Minimal effort in deploying for a large number of clients
- Minimal effort in update settings centrally
- Multiple configurations are easily accessible from the myData login screen
The deployment process starts with database server by creating a new database or databases See appendix 4.1 Recommended naming of myData databases.
The system administrator then runs myData Admin Utility to create a new Global Configuration File and installs the necessary table schemas into the new database.
